Every two years the Parachute Industry Association holds a skydiving expo known as PIA Symposium. The event was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 13-17, 2017. This bi-annual event draws skydiving manufacturers, drop zone operators and sport parachutists from all over the world. The 5 day event is well known for its exhibition hall allowing skydiving manufacturers to display their latest and greatest products. Equally as valuable to Skydive OC are the seminars scheduled throughout the week. Seminars from Tandem Director, Tom Noonan of United Parachute Technologies and USPA Safety & Training Advisor, Jim Crouch of USPA were just some of the presentations that will contribute to Skydive OC's goal of providing a safer environment for our students. Skydive OC was the only drop zone in the Maryland and Delaware region present at the Symposium. Drop zone owner, Jeanice Dolan, said "Coming to venues like this is just a demonstration of our commitment to safety. We have a perfect safety record and while all factors are not always in our control, we want to make sure our Instructors are fully equipped with the necessary training to help mitigate any safety hazards."

The views over the beach and the ocean were spectacular!
